SUNDAY SCHOOL

9:00 AM- 10:00 AM.

PRE-K/K EARLY CHILDHOOD (Ages 3 Yrs.-Kindergarten)

GROWING in CHRIST” (Concordia Publishing House) is a Lutheran, Bible-based program used in the Youth Sunday School. Children learn stories from the entire Bible and how they pertain to the birth and death of Jesus and our Lutheran beliefs. All classes are taught the same lesson each week for a uniform program.

GRADES 1-6 (Elementary)

The “ROTATION STATIONS” format of teaching is used for the Elementary Grades. All students meet for large group Worship at opening, then move to their individual classroom:
Lower Level (Grades 1&2)
Middle Level (Grades 3&4)
UPPER LEVEL (GRADES 4&5)
In their individual classes (God Speaks Station) they are taught the lesson through Bible reading, work papers, discussion. Classes then join and rotate to the “Music Station.”Songs and hymns from a contemporary Lutheran Hymn Book that coordinate with each week’slesson. The last station the group rotates to is the “God Lives Station.” Here students apply the lesson to their lives in the form of crafts, drama, games and/or cooking.

CONFIRMATION (Jr. High School)

Following the opening Worship, students meet in their classroom for studies of contemporary issues and how they impact in their Christian lives.

YOUNG ADULT (High School/ College)

Using the Lutheran Handbook, students discuss how to apply Lutheran beliefs and Christianity in their daily lives. Occasionally, the Young Adult and Confirmation classes will meet together.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Throughout the year, special programs are offered to the Sunday School with an invitation to the congregation and to the community to participate. At Christmas the Sunday School presents a Holiday Program during the worship service for the congregation. In observance of Lent, students discover the symbols and traditions of the season leading up to Easter at the Lenten Fair. The Sunday School supports the community outreach projects of “Habitat for Humanity” and “Operation Christmas Child.”
